I read several reviews for sewing machines on Amazon's website, as well as several other websites. I was looking for a good quality machine at an affordable price, and after seeing that the refurbished machines came with a 1 year manufacturer warranty, I decided on purchasing a Singer 132q. I am very pleased with this machine. I was taught to sew as a child, so after so many years of not sewing, I found that this machine came with easy to understand set-up directions. I like the large selection of stitches offered. So far I have not had any problems, and it works great! Sewing is a pleasure on this sewing machine.

Compact and very capable with 32 stitch functions, this Singer machine is simple to operate and makes it possible for even novices to enjoy creative sewing. Additional accessories are included to make quilting and crafting even easier. These include an extended work table and a walking pressure foot. Some of the convenience features include a 6-second, easy threading system with automatic needle-thread tension; an electronically controlled foot pedal for smoothly maintaining or changing speeds; push-button reverse sewing for neat seam-ends; a two-needle positions for attaching zippers and top stitching; and a built-in five-step buttonholer for easy buttonhole sewing. The machine is quiet and ruggedly built, includes a sewing light, and the extended work surface slides off easily for free-arm sewing. A complete accessory package is included.
